It has been about a month since I got my Bambu Lab A1 Mini, and honestly — this little machine is still one of the best beginner 3D printers in Malaysia that I’ve ever used.
🔊 Super Silent & Smooth Printing
One thing I really appreciate is how silent the A1 Mini is. Even when printing at high speeds, the noise is minimal — much quieter than many entry-level 3D printers out there. I can leave it printing in my living room without disturbing the family.
📱 Easy to Use with Bambu Handy & Studio
Most of the time, I control the printer using the Bambu Handy app on my phone. It’s super convenient to start, pause, or monitor prints from anywhere. For more advanced tweaking, Bambu Studio on my laptop gives full control over slicing, supports, and filament profiles. The combo of app + desktop software makes the whole experience very beginner-friendly.
✅ Print Success Rate After 1 Month
I’d say about 90% of my prints are successful. The few failed prints are mostly because the model support wasn’t set up properly in the slicer. After I learned to adjust the support settings in Bambu Studio, my success rate improved a lot. Once tuned, the printer just works!
🌦️ Lesson Learned: Humid Malaysia Needs a Filament Dryer
At first, I thought keeping my PLA filament in a sealed plastic bag was enough. But after a few days, the filament absorbed too much moisture — causing rough surfaces and the dreaded “pop pop” sound while printing.
I ended up using a manual hair dryer to heat-dry the filament before every print… very leceh (troublesome) lah. Finally, I built a simple DIY dry box, and now everything prints perfectly again.
So if you’re in Malaysia — don’t skip this step. A proper filament dryer box is a must-have.
