Thinking of buying a Bambu Lab A1 Mini this 11.11? Good timing. A 3D printer costs over a thousand ringgit, so it makes sense to wait for the big sale, compare sellers and stack your vouchers.

I own an A1 Mini myself. In August 2025 I wrote my Bambu Lab A1 Mini 1-month review, and my first A1 Mini review before that. This guide puts it all together for 11.11: who the A1 Mini is for, the key specs, the good and the bad, the prices I saw, and how to buy it smartly during the sale.

Quick answer: If you are a beginner in Malaysia and want an easy, quiet printer for small prints, the A1 Mini is still a great pick. Get the Combo if you want multi-colour printing, and plan to buy a filament dryer too.

11.11 pick · Best for beginners

Who is the A1 Mini for?

The A1 Mini is good for you if:

  • You are new to 3D printing. Bambu Lab says it comes pre-assembled and takes about 20 minutes to set up for your first print. It calibrates itself before every print, so you don't need to level the bed by hand.
  • You have a small space. The printer is 347 × 315 × 365 mm and weighs 5.5 kg, so it fits on a normal desk.
  • You print small things. Keychains, phone stands, figurines, small gifts, school projects and replacement parts.
  • You want to print at home without too much noise. Bambu Lab rates it under 48 dB in Silent Mode.

It is not the best choice if:

  • You want to print big items in one piece. The build size is only 180 × 180 × 180 mm.
  • You want to print ABS, ASA, nylon or carbon-fibre filament. Bambu Lab says these are "not recommended" on the A1 Mini, because it is an open printer with no enclosure.

What I said after 1 month of use

Here is what I wrote in my 1-month review (August 2025):

  • It's quiet. Even at high speed, the noise was low. I could leave it printing in my living room without disturbing the family.
  • The apps make it easy. I mostly controlled it with the Bambu Handy app on my phone to start, pause or check prints. For more control over slicing, supports and filament profiles, I used Bambu Studio on my laptop.
  • About 90% of my prints were successful. Most failed prints were because I set up the supports wrongly in the slicer. Once I learned to adjust the support settings, my success rate went up a lot.
  • Malaysia's humidity was my biggest problem. I kept my PLA in a sealed plastic bag, but after a few days it took in too much moisture. I got rough surfaces and that "pop pop" sound while printing. I tried drying it with a hair dryer before every print (very leceh lah), then built a simple DIY dry box, and my prints were fine again.

So my main tip is the same as before: budget for a filament dryer or dry box. I explain why in my filament dryer box post.

A1 Mini vs A1 Mini Combo: which one?

  • A1 Mini (printer only): Comes with the printer, spool holder, purge wiper, build plate, a PTFE tube, filament samples and an accessory box (per the Bambu Lab store page). Prints one colour at a time.
  • A1 Mini Combo: Adds the AMS lite, so you can print with up to 4 colours (or 4 filaments) in one job. In the box you get the AMS lite body, stand, 4 rotary spool holders and 3 PTFE tubes.

My take: If you are not sure, start with the printer only and put the savings into good filament and a dryer. If you already know you want colourful prints like keychains, signs or figurines, the Combo is simpler than adding parts later. One thing to know: Bambu Lab says the AMS lite is non-enclosed, so in our humid weather the spools on it are open to the air. Dry your filament first.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Very easy for beginners: comes pre-assembled and calibrates itself before every print
  • Quiet: under 48 dB in Silent Mode (official), and quiet enough for my living room
  • Fast for its size: up to 500 mm/s toolhead speed
  • Phone app + desktop slicer, plus 1-click printing from MakerWorld
  • Optional 4-colour printing with the AMS lite
  • Quick-swap hotend with one clip, so changing nozzles is easy
  • Small and light enough for a desk

Cons

  • Small build volume (18 cm cube), so bigger models must be split into parts
  • Open frame: ABS, ASA, nylon and carbon-fibre filaments are not recommended
  • Max bed temperature is 80 °C
  • The AMS lite is open, so you need to manage filament moisture yourself in Malaysia
  • Camera is low frame rate. Fine for checking prints and timelapses, not for smooth video

11.11 buying tips for the A1 Mini

  1. Add it to your cart now. Then you can see when the price changes and check out fast when vouchers drop.
  2. Note today's price. Use the table above, so you can tell if the 11.11 price is really lower.
  3. Check the seller and warranty. Buy from an official or well-known local seller and read the warranty terms on the listing (how long, and who handles repairs).
  4. Pick the right version. Make sure the price you see is for the version you want: printer only or Combo with AMS lite.
  5. Stack vouchers. Look for store vouchers, platform vouchers, free shipping and bank or e-wallet offers. Collect them before the sale times.
  6. Check out at voucher time. Popular vouchers run out fast at 12am and 8pm.
  7. Buy filament in the same order. It can help you reach a min-spend voucher.

What to buy with your A1 Mini

From my own experience, the most important add-on is a filament dryer or dry box. Malaysian humidity will spoil your filament fast. Other useful extras:

  • A few rolls of PLA (the easiest filament to start with). See my beginner's guide to 3D printer filaments.
  • A filament dryer or dry box
  • A small tool kit (scraper, nozzle cleaning needles, cutters)
  • A spare hotend or nozzle, so a clog doesn't stop your printing

I'm putting my full list with prices in my 11.11 add-ons post: 3D printing add-ons to buy this 11.11.

A1 Mini vs A1 and other options

  • Bambu Lab A1: The bigger version, with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume and 100 °C max bed temperature (official specs). It is also bigger and heavier (465 × 410 × 430 mm, 8.3 kg). Choose it if you often print larger items. It costs more than the A1 Mini, so check the price.
  • Bambu Lab A2L: A large-format A-Series printer launched in June 2026, with a 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume (per Bambu Lab). It is for big projects, not a replacement for the A1 Mini.
  • A1 Mini: Still the easiest choice if you mainly print small to medium items and want something compact and quiet.

FAQ

Will the A1 Mini be cheaper on 11.11?

Maybe, but nobody can promise that. I have not seen a confirmed 11.11 deal price. Note today's price, add it to your cart and compare during the sale.

Can the A1 Mini print ABS?

Bambu Lab lists ABS, ASA, PC, PA and PET as "not recommended" for the A1 Mini, because they need higher bed and chamber temperatures. Stick to PLA, PETG and TPU.

Is the A1 Mini noisy?

Bambu Lab rates it under 48 dB in Silent Mode. In my own use, it was quiet enough to print in the living room without disturbing my family.

Do I need the Combo?

Only if you want multi-colour or multi-filament prints. The Combo adds the AMS lite for up to 4 colours. If you only print one colour, the printer-only version is fine.

Does it need the internet?

You can use cloud printing with the Bambu Handy app, but Bambu Lab also offers LAN mode if you don't want cloud communication. It also has a microSD card slot.

How big can I print?

Up to 180 × 180 × 180 mm. For bigger models, split them into parts or look at the A1.

Shopee or Lazada?

Buy where you get the best total price after vouchers, from a seller with clear local warranty. Compare both on the sale day.

Final thoughts

The A1 Mini is still the printer I would point most beginners in Malaysia to: easy setup, quiet printing and good results once your supports and filament are sorted. This 11.11, decide on printer only vs Combo, add it to your cart, note today's price, and buy when the vouchers drop. Don't forget a dryer box.
